They will greet you with love, invite you in their cozy, warm houses, to drink Raki (a bittersweet word)- Albanian's favorite drink (A typical Albanian drink made from fermented Grapes or Fresh Plumps) and eat traditional, Albanian foods. They will pour their heart out to you because you are their favorite guest.

In every corner of this city you will find one or two pretty cafés because we are coffee lovers and our day, can't start without drinking a nice Turkish coffee. When I visit a new country the best part of it is the walking tours with a guide. Our tour guide, Genci, knows the country pretty well. You can ask him/her a lot of questions and he/she will never get annoyed because guides love their jobs. In Tirana tour guides are very professional and have friendly manners. When you book your trip, remember to have a tour guide with you because it will make your trip even better.
6. Visit Tirana for its Liqeni Artificial Park
I am a nature lover and each morning I walk for 30 minutes through the Liqeni Artificial Park also known as Kodrat e Liqenit. Its lovely green color, the birds singing on the trees, the peaceful lake, colorful flowers blooming in the grass, fresh air and wooden stools are what makes this park amazing. When the weather is really nice, especially during summer, you will notice that everyone likes to spend the sunny days in the park. When you visit Tirana, don't miss the chance of having a nice walk through the magnificent park. You can take a book with you while relaxing on a stool and enjoy the whisper of nature while reading.
7. Visit Tirana for its history
When we visit a new place the first thing we want to ask is: What is this, where & when this happen ? Everywhere we go, we will love to learn about a city's history. Tirana is a lively city, rich in history. You will visit: The Scanderbeg square - the statue of our national hero- Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu, The National Historical Musem as well as the Archalogical Museum that symbolize the centuries old history of Albania, The opera and Balet building, The Pyramid, E'them Bey Mosque, The Clock Tower, Tunner's Bridge, Bunk'Art, Pedonale, The ArtGallery and The national theater and late in the afternoon you can visit Petrela's castle or Preza castle.Two amazing castles.
8. Visit Tirana for a little adventure
If you are a hiking lover or have a sense of adventure I will suggest visiting Petrela Castle. Petrela is a small village only 30 minutes away from Tirana. Besides, the panoramic view Petrela offers fresh air and beautiful botanic gardens. The castle looks like it is taken out from Fairy Tales. What will make you love this village is the architecture of the building and its history. You will visit : Memorial Tomb of the bride, monumental tomb and Persqop ancient settlement. The hike to the castle is quite easy and the view amazing. You will have lunch at the restaurant up in the hill that serves traditional dishes of this region.
9. Visit Tirana for Dajti Mountain National park
Dajti mountain is a natural park with a rich in diversity of trees and plants. The green park, the calmness of the park will capture your heart. You get in Dajti Park by Teleferik. If you want a quiet place away from the city center, visit Dajti Mountain National Park.
There you’ll find hotels, guest-houses and restaurants if you feel like staying overnight.
10. Visit Tirana for a day trip by the seaside
I've always loved Durrës. Its lovely nights, the morning sweet escape from the daily routine to the sandy beach, the nightlife, delicious seafood, the beautiful sunset and vibrant cafes and restaurants, make me choose Durrës every single time
I will strongly suggest you stopping at Vollga for some nice photos and trying Gelateria's Çela fresh ice creams. It's yummy! The best ice cream you'll ever taste. Try the local restaurants that serve a variety of seafoods based dishes and frontline clubs for fresh cocktails along the beach. People are very friendly and they serve with professionalism.
